OUR HISTORY
The late Mrs. L.G. Coleman, Mr. Sinclair Evans, Mr. Claude Hilliard and Mr. W.D. Sweet, in the spring of 1933, founded the J.R.E. Lee Chapter in the beautiful city of Jacksonville, FL. The Chapter gave honor to the 3rd President of Florida A & M College; Dr. John Robert Edward Lee, Sr.
The Chapter started with eight members and by 1943 became the largest chapter in the nation under the umbrella of the FAMC National Alumni Association. The Chapter actively sought and acquired a working relationship with the Governor, State Legislators and the Board of Control, which later became the Board of Trustees.
